Mixta Nigeria is awarding 3 students in various public secondary schools with cash prizes for creating impressive business plans after a 1 month training period with Junior Achievement Nigeria officials and some Mixta staff volunteers.
As part of the training period, mid management level and associate staff of Mixta Africa served as volunteers to train students from – Girls Junior Secondary Grammar School, Ikoyi and Abibat Mogaji Millennium Secondary School.
The competition ran from the 19th to the 26th of May 2021, as part of activities to mark the Children’s Day. Entries from schools in Lagos, Oyo and Rivers were received.
Students who participated in the program submitted a Business Plan and Pitch Video. Of the many entries, a total of 10 students were shortlisted, out of which 3 top winners were selected. The 3 winners are Amishere Blay of Seed Life College, Ibadan, Fadrian Eniola and Bamgbose Ifeoluwa of Best Brain College, Ibadan and Saliu Samirat & Sulaimon Hummi Salam of Abibat Mogaji Secondary School, Lagos. They will be awarded cash prizes of N150,000, N100,000 and N50,000 alongside a scholarship to finish their secondary school education.
The Senior Brand and Marketing Associate of Mixta, Africa, Onome Umukoro speaking on the programme said this initiative reinforces the company’s corporate social responsibility to empower the Nigerian child. The company has, in recent time, stepped up community engagement and set a long-term focus on Sustainability, Innovation and Empowerment.
