Mixta announces changes in Leadership, appoints new Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Country Manager

Mixta Africa is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Kola Ashiru-Balogun as the new Chief Operating Officer for the Mixta Africa Group and Mrs Sade Hughes as the Country Manager for its Nigeria operations effective 1st of July 2020.

 

Mr. Kola Ashiru-Balogun assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer of Mixta Group taking over coverage of the Company’s North and West Africa operations from Mr Daniel Font. Kola takes on this role at a critical time in Mixta’s journey, as we push boundaries in the real estate sector and execute our strategy to lead in the affordable housing space across Africa. His passion and extensive experience in real estate, development finance and general management will play an instrumental role in Mixta Group achieving its ambitious goals.

 

Prior to this appointment, Kola served as the Managing Director for Mixta Nigeria between 2015 and 2020. Before joining Mixta, Kola worked in various capacities with companies such as Asset & Resource Management company (ARM), The Church Pension Group in the US and Goldman Sachs. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the Bernard Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business and MSc. Real Estate with Finance Concentration from the New York University.

 

Mrs Sade Hughes, the current Managing Director of Mixta Hospitality assumes responsibility for Mixta Nigeria operations as Country Manager. She will be combining this new portfolio with the hospitality business. Sade Hughes has over 25 years’ experience in real estate development. She studied Architecture at the University of Lagos, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Boston. She holds a Certificate in Interior Design from the KLC School of Interior Design London. Before joining Mixta Africa, she was the founding CEO of Briscoe Properties Limited – a position she held for 11 years where she led the transformation of a small scale facility management company into a full-fledged property development company.
